Making magical memories is what we believe in here at Thornton Hall Country Park.  That’s why we’ve chosen to partner with Martin House Children’s Hospice.

Martin House is a beautiful hospice in Boston Spa, near Wetherby. They care for children and young people with complex, life shortening conditions all across West, North and East Yorkshire at the hospice, in their homes and in hospitals.

For children like Amelia, who suffered brain damage at birth followed by sepsis a few years later and now has a life shortening illness as a result, Martin House is a lifeline.

Despite so many medical challenges and being reliant on her mum for all her care, the things she loves best when she’s at Martin House, are baking, music therapy sessions and art.

Amelia’s mum, Shabnam said “Martin House allows parents to step out of their caring role and have quality time with their child to do nice things. It allows parents to have a bit of ‘me’ time, which is very rare.

“I live for the moment and the fact that we can come to Martin House and make more memories, they’re all so precious and they’ll stay with me forever.”

In order to help families like Amelia’s to make those precious memories, we’re welcoming a group to be a part of our Christmas Adventure and we’re asking all our visitors to help us raise £15,000 by making a donation as part of the booking process.  We need your help so the families can continue receiving specialist care, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Thank you!
