Catering Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible to: Catering Manager

Hours of work: Part time (16 hours) and Full time (36 hours) position available

The ideal candidate will be available to work predominantly weekends and evenings.

Salary: Competitive salary available and is dependent on experience.

Job Purpose: To be responsible for delivering an excellent catering service throughout park to visitors delivering high quality, healthy and innovative menus in line with Government guidelines.

Main Responsibilities

  • Preparation, cooking and service of good quality and healthy food.
  • Ensuring the catering provision is in line with current Government legislation and guidelines as amended from time to time.
  • General supervision of kitchen premises and staff to ensure that safe and hygienic working practices are undertaken and maintained.
  • Assisting with the Induction training of new staff.
  • Working alongside the manager in monitoring of food costs to keep within the food cost budget.
  • Ensuring the highest possible standards of cleanliness are maintained for equipment.
  • Ensuring the highest possible standards in personal hygiene, including wearing the clean protective clothing as provided.
  • Ensure hygiene, health and safety regulations are strictly observed.
  • Termly stocktaking of kitchen and dining equipment.
  • Ordering stock.

 

 

Bartenders and Waiters

Thornton Hall Events are currently seeking enthusiastic Bartenders and Waiters / Waitresses to provide an excellent guest experience.

Our ideal candidate will assist with taking orders, preparing drinks and or food, and serving to customers. Our customer base consists of wedding guests, small groups and couples.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages and food.
  • Interact with customers, take orders, and serve drinks, snacks and food.
  • Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
  • Check customers’ identification to meet legal drinking age.
  • Stay customer focused.

A positive attitude and good communication skills is a must as is the ability to keep the area clean and organised.

Pay will depend on experience.

The role is currently part time and is predominantly weekend work.

 

 

ATV Operator (Farm Safari)

We are seeking an enthusiastic person to operate our popular Farm Safari ride within the farm park.

The ideal candidate must be experienced in driving similar vehicles and possess exceptional levels of customer service and initiative.

The role will involve the following:

  • Welcoming customers onto the ride / activity
  • Advise on best practice and control over the ATV and the carriages.
  • Operate the vehicle whilst remaining under the speed limit and checking on the safety of all participants.
  • Taking up 20 24 customers over 160 acres of stunning countryside, stopping at intervals to talk about our amazing and friendly animals.
  • Use our terminal to take payment and handle cash.
  • Ensure the vehicle and carriages are in good working order and report any problems immediately.

The role is part time. Weekends and holidays and will include 1 weekend day.

Rates of pay is dependent on experience.

 

Quad Bike Operator

We are seeking an enthusiastic person to operate and man the Junior Quad Biking area within the farm park as well as driving our Quad bike whilst operating our popular Caterpillar ride.

The ideal candidate must be over the age of 17, be familiar with operating a quad bike. Possess exceptional levels of customer service and initiative.

The role will involve the following:

  • Welcoming customers onto the ride / activity
  • Advise on best practice and control over the quad bikes.
  • Operate the quad whilst remaining under the speed limit and checking on the safety of all participants.
  • Use our terminal to take payment and handle cash.
  • Ensure the bikes are in good working order and report any problems immediately.

The role is part time. Weekends and holidays and will include 1 weekend day.

Rates of pay is dependent on experience.

Halloween Scare Actor

We are looking for confident, fun and energetic individuals to bring nightmares to life this Halloween at Thornton Hall Country Park.

This Halloween Thornton Hall Country Park will be opening the gates to SCREAM FIELDS, the north’s newest Halloween Fear Park.

No experience is necessary, as full training will be given by industry professionals.

The role will involve working on selected evenings between 2nd – 31st October, with opportunities to join our events family and be cast for further events throughout the year – including Christmas.

 

Scare actors are cast on a freelance basis, fees for performances are paid at national minimum wage which varies depending on age.

Experience hands on animal encounters on our traditional working farm here at Thornton Hall Country Park. Climb on board our Safari Ride and take a trip up to our Deer Park then enjoy some delicious food in our onsite diner while the little ones burn off the remainder of their energy in our huge fun filled Play Barn… a fun filled, informative family day out, RAIN OR SHINE!
